NEW International Step team to Spain! Date posted: Thursday 26th March 2009 The following team is planned for this summer and we hope it will be made up of people from a variety of European countries: Spain: 23rd July - 14th August (with the option to stay on till 24th August) Working with the Iglesia Evangelica Nueva Vida in Santander under the leadership of Pastor Philip Enrique (half Welsh and half Spanish, he has lived in Spain for 13 years). This exciting opportunity will consist of two parts: volunteer work at one of the social projects run by the church (a home for young teenage immigrants or a government-run homeless shelter); and street work and evangelism with a smaller church plant. The church has five congregations in the city with around 300 members in total. The team will be working with the mother church (70 members) and a smaller church plant (15members) located nearby. There will also be the option to stay on for a further ten days and work with another Latin church in Santander. This church is led by Pastor Julio Cesar who is from Paraguay and has been in Spain for four years. This church has only been going for one year and already has 70 Latin American attendees with only one being Spanish. They want to reach out to Spanish people. The team will be helping with outreach in the city as well as supporting some of the churches activities with young people.
