James, of BBC fame...

Date posted: Tuesday 2nd May 2006

The hot, unpredictable weather in Belo, Brazil, has proved a challenge, even for those trained in predicting its course, as it swings from storm to scorching shine.

James Wilby has a great respect for the weather, as a sailor does the sea. He understands that it is surely normal to throw himself to the ground in fear of his life during a torrential rainstorm when lightening strikes a building on the other side of the street. When this happened, his fellow team mates looked on in amusement.

James took a break from weather reporting back in March as he set off with a team to serve in Brazil for 4 months, constructing a creche in Belo, and soon to be moving on to Goiania for the second half of their time. As well as the team keeping us all updated here on the Step teams pages, James is writing for the faith pages of BBC Norfolk, sharing his personal experiences in Brazil, and how God is teaching him. Whilst building the creche, the team have been surrounded by children from the area, some from very difficult backgrounds, and have been overwhelmed again and again as God shows them His love for all people....
